Citrine is the golden quartz (pale yellow to brownish orange). In the early days, it was mistaken for golden topaz. Natural citrine is rare – it’s mostly the result of heating low-value shades of purple quartz. It’s recognized as one of the November birthstones and the traditional gemstone for the 13^th wedding anniversary.
